Greater Hume Shire

Greater Hume is located in the southern NSW transport corridor between the regional centres of Albury and Wagga Wagga. The shire borders Victoria and is linked by the Hume Freeway, Riverina and Olympic Highways. The Main Southern Railway Line traverses the shire. Greater Hume Shire has proximity to the Ettamogah Rail Hub, regional airports are nearby at Albury and Wagga Wagga and offer frequent direct flights to Sydney and Melbourne.

The Woolpack Inn Museum is a two story heritage listed historic building located in the main street of Holbrook. The original Woolpack Inn was opened in 1839 by John Mitten and continued trading until it was destroyed by fire in 1895.
A massive white granite outcrop known as Morgan’s Lookout is on the Culcairn to Walbundrie Road. In what is otherwise low undulating country, bushranger Dan Morgan is said to have used this as a vantage point to watch for approaching police.
The Jindera Pioneer Museum is a unique facility just 15 km north of Albury, the Museum is said to be one of the best in regional Australia. It celebrated its 50th year of operation in 2018. The Museum complex contains a remarkable old store and a variety of dwellings, with authentic pioneer to late Victorian architecture and furnishings.
