Barunga West

Barunga West Council is located on the northern tip of the Yorke Peninsula, with its southern-most boundary some 120 kilometres north of the capital city, Adelaide. The major townships of the Council area are Port Broughton, Bute & Fisherman Bay.

Made by men with a passion for trains, The Copper Coast Region Old Machinery and Engineering Club Incorporated are operating the Kadina Miniature Train, located at The Farm Shed Museum and Tourism Information Centre.
The history of Port Broughton is revealed as you walk around this small town. Along the way you will see historic landmarks such as where the Old Station was (1885), the original Council Chambers (1895), the restored Cottage (1898) and the various churches (1885 to 1902).
The Heritage Centre was designed to display the recordings of the past for the benefit of future generations. Plan ahead and book in to spend some time at this hands-on heritage centre containing many historical papers, photos, articles and a beautiful “Plangon” doll collection.
