Strathfield Municipal

The Municipality of Strathfield, also known as Strathfield Council, is a local government area in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Strathfield is bounded by Arthur Street, Broughton Road, Beresford Road, Homebush Road, The Crescent and Beresford Road in the north, the railway line and The Boulevarde in the east, Liverpool Road and Centenary Drive in the south, and the railway line, the Rookwood Necropolis, Weeroona Road and Graham Avenue in the west.

Bark Huts Reserve is 4.05 hectares in size and is one of Strathfield’s largest parks. Bark Huts Reserve is an important local sporting facility and popular neighbourhood park.

Strathfield Park is Strathfield’s oldest and most popular park providing a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities and opportunities. Events such as Carols by Candlelight, Australia Day and Summer Programs such as Movies in the Park are held in Strathfield Park.

Mason Park and Mason Park Wetlands are over twelve hectares in size. The wetland consists of a saltmarsh, mangrove forest and small freshwater pond. The park lies in an irregular triangle formed by the arms of two canalised creeks, Saleyards and Powells Creeks, which drain north into Homebush Bay.
